This mysterious original abstract acrylic painting was inspired by composer Robert Muczinsky's "Timepieces," for clarinet and piano where geometric shapes drift in and out of focus in the fire-dark. The musical composition has elements of classical and jazz in it; what struck me the most was the way Muczinsky continually creates, stretches and disregards musical forms all in a matter of a few seconds. The jazzy harmonies and moody chromaticism dictated the painting's sharp contrasts in color. This painting was included in a live performance of Muczinsky's "Timepieces."
